Do you avoid taking your horse to certain places because you are afraid you might have to back your trailer up? Do you struggle with backing around corners, into tight spaces, or in a straight line?

If so, this clinic is for you! Tim Garrow, a licensed CDL instructor and owner of Precision Driver Training School, as well as a horseback rider and champion reiner, will be teaching this clinic to help equestrians improve their skills at trailer backing.

Tim will go over basic principles of backing a trailer, safety, and how to direct someone who is backing a trailer. Then, each participant will have a half-hour private lesson in their own rig.

There will be two sessions: a morning session from 9:00 a.m. to noon, with 5 participants, and an afternoon session, with another 5 participants. You may indicate your preference for the morning or afternoon session; we will do our best to accommodate your preference but cannot guarantee you will get it. Your private lesson will be on whatever area of backing up that you choose – please let us know in advance.

We can also accommodate at least 5 auditors, who can attend one or both sessions. More auditor slots might become available depending on how wet the parking area is expected to be on August 10.

You can put your name on the waiting list for hands-on slots (in case someone cancels) or for auditor slots by emailing monicaraymond@vthorsecouncil.org.
