Location: Creek Road, Just south of the village of Middlebury, Vermont in Addison County
Google Map: Click here for parking and start of ride.
Description: Quiet country road, with little vehicle traffic, sometime lots of joggers and bikers. The road follows a creek on one side with fields on the other side. There is little to no shoulder on the creek side. The dirt road is about 4 miles long, 8 miles round trip (out-and-back). There is an area where you can ride down to the river, but it is very soft sand and you risk sinking in.
Terrain: Flat roads (great for a cart) that can be either hard packed dirt or loose gravel depending when last graded.
Parking: There are two areas to park, one at each end of the road. The larger area is on Creek Rd. across the street from the town garage, just south of the Middlebury Parks and Recreation building. Parking is not allowed during the winter months when the gates and road are closed because it is used as a plow turnaround. The lot can hold about 4 bumper pull trailers and usually requires backing in. The second parking lot is smaller and should hold two trailers comfortably, but again, others might be parked there.
