” An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” – Benjamin Franklin
Recently, Vermont Farm Bureau now has access to a preventative tool that can be used on farm (or in a home) to help detect fire risks. This tool is called a thermal imaging device. The device is portable and user friendly, with a large viewing screen and it uses simple color-codes to visually detect looming fire hazards. According to an article published by Nationwide ‘Thermal Imaging Provides a Sixth Sense”, the thermal imaging device is able to “locate and diagnose electrical, mechanical and building problems while the software documents and records temperature anomalies like excessive heat.” Being able to detect your hidden and hard to find issues with the thermal imaging device ahead of time, could be one of the best things you can do for your farm, and for your livelihood.
