The VHC Trail Connection connects riders and drivers with information on the many wonderful horse trails in Vermont open to the public. You can click on the interactive map below to find trails in your area, or peruse the list of trails next to the map.
The Vermont Horse Council Trail Connection wants to help you get out on the trail
We are connecting riders and drivers with trails, with each other, and with landowners, local and state agencies, education, and funding to increase access and maintain trails so that we can safely and responsibly enjoy the beauty of Vermont’s landscape from horseback.

Trail Etiquette
We share trails with many other users—equestrians and non-equestrians—and, of course, if we want them to respect us, we need to respect them. We have lots of resources to be safe and respectful on the trails.

Get Involved
Connect with the VHC Trail Connection Coordinator, Monica Raymond to talk about trails in your area that are open to the public, for inclusion in our trails page. Or if you have other ways that you’d like to contribute, please get in touch with us.
Vermont Horse Council Trail Maintenance Fund
With your generous support, the Vermont Horse Council is pleased to offer small grant opportunities to Vermont organizations that use, promote, and maintain equine trails within the state. The program will assist equine trail organizations in the opportunity to maintain and repair trails with grants from the Vermont Horse Council. Make your gift today!
