2024 Vermont Horse Council Annual Meeting

Join us at the Vermont Horse Council’s Annual Meeting! Business meeting from 10:30 am – approximately noon, followed by lunch for in person attendees (30 minutes), finish with a presentation by Jean Audet about her 2023 equine safari trip to South Africa and Botswana.  In person attendance includes lunch and costs $20.  Registration for in person is required as space is limited. See link below for registration.  Zoom attendance is free and no registration required.

VERMONT HORSE COUNCIL ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES

JANUARY 31, 2023 – 6 PM,  VIA ZOOM

The meeting was called to order by VHC President, Mikayla Pick at 6:07 pm. Twenty people were present – Heidi Krantz, Robin Severy, Sue James, Kelsey Evans, Mikayla Pick, Sarah Isham, Louise Lynch, Jami Maguire, Kayleigh Davenport, Jean Audet, James Robinson, Lisa LaFont, Kerrie Garvey, Monica Raymond, Deb Sargent, Karen McKnight, Christine Boudreau, Stephanie Davis, Dianne Kane, and Jeannette Cole.

Mikayla presented an overview of the accomplishments in 2022 and some of the plans for 2023 including VHC Financial review.

Suggestions and comments from membership included:

  • Posts on Facebook are helpful to get more participation.
  • Improve coordination of rides with members through Facebook posts

The financials were accepted as presented by membership unanimously.
The minutes from the 2022 meeting were accepted by membership unanimously.

Officers were elected as presented because there were no positions with multiple candidates – Mikayla Pick, President; VP vacant; Jeannette Cole, Secretary/Treasurer; BOD, James Robinson (newly elected); BOD (continuing 3-year terms), Jean Audet, Robin Severy, Monica Raymond, Kerrie Garvey, Lisa LaFont; there is one BOD vacancy not able to be filled for lack of candidates.

Kayleigh Davenport presented her preparation and ride experience at the 2022 Mongol Derby to the membership.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:17 pm.
